I also wrote this comic to help me feel better about myself in high school. This is a personal comic and of course everyone has their own challenges with loving themselves and their own ways of dealing with them…these are just specific examples of what I was dealing with at the time, (and continue to deal with.) I wrote this a little over a year ago.
I’m also aware that there are some things that are potentially problematic about the comments on weight and a “fixed self image” If you spot any other things about this this are problematic, feel free to call me out.
This is perfect.
“People always ask me, ‘You have so much confidence. Where did that come from?’ It came from me. One day I decided that I was beautiful, and so I carried out my life as if I was a beautiful girl … It doesn’t have anything to do with how the world perceives you. What matters is what you see. Your body is your temple, it’s your home, and you must decorate it.”

Here’s a photo of me with my parents at my birthday dinner last night! Look how cute we are :3
I’m posting this because I think I look DAMN good.
I’ve never been confident about my appearance. I’ve never had a high self-esteem. I’ve never thought I look beautiful. Until I look at this picture.
I see in this photo a girl that is beautiful, happy, and, most importantly of all, confident. I don’t think there’s been any other photo taken of me where I feel this way. Maybe all this work isn’t for nothing. Maybe it is about finding a place where you’re comfortable, where you can love yourself and nothing else matters.
Looking at this picture, I know that I have changed for the better. And not just physically.
